Getting started
Starting therapy, one gentle step at a time.
Reaching out is often the hardest part. Here’s exactly what happens next: how we match you with the right clinician, what your first session is like and how payment works. No surprises.
Your first steps
Four steps from first call to first session.
- 01
Free 15-minute call
Call or request an appointment online. We’ll listen to what’s going on, answer your questions and check your insurance. No pressure, no commitment.
- 02
Get matched
We pair you with the clinician whose training and experience best fit your needs, with in-person or virtual times that work for you.
- 03
Simple paperwork
Before your first visit you’ll receive secure intake forms through our client portal, so you know what to expect when you arrive.
- 04
Your first session
A safe, unhurried space to share your story at your own pace and set goals together. You’re always in control of what you share.
What to expect
What your first session is like.
Feeling nervous before a first appointment is completely normal. Here’s what it usually looks like, so nothing catches you off guard.
We’ll talk about what’s going on
Your clinician will ask what brings you in, a little about your history and what you hope will change. Share only what feels comfortable.
We’ll set goals together
You’ll leave with a shared sense of direction and an idea of which approaches, like EMDR, CBT or ERP, may help.
You stay in control
You set the pace. You can pause, skip a question or ask about anything at all. Therapy should feel safe, never pressured.
In person or online
Meet at our Blue Springs or Lee’s Summit office, or by secure telehealth from home, work or another private location of your choosing. As long as you’re located in a state where your clinician is licensed, we’ll make the location work for you.
Help me choose
Find a clinician who fits.
Choose what you’d like help with and we’ll show clinicians who specialize in it. Not sure? That’s okay. We’ll match you on a free call.
